Topsøe Fuel Cell MATLAB

The project, Building 73, Materials Laboratory, includes the transformation of 1,200 m² of a one-time factory building. The project is part of an ongoing conversion of Haldor Topsøe’s older industrial buildings in Lundtofte. Since 2007 Gottlieb Paludan Architects has been consultants for various sub-projects in connection with this conversion.

Improvements to energy accounts, daylight conditions and flexibility have been keywords for the materials laboratory. A series of tall windows has been created in the south façade, providing a view of the surroundings and admitting daylight further into the building. The plant-intensive interior has been realized simply and with great flexibility, and partitioning has been solved by wall-to-wall and wall-to-ceiling glazed sections to enhance the sense of overview in the deep-set building. The façades have been re-insulated internally and the walls painted white.

Gottlieb Paludan Architects has been in charge of the architects’ work and construction management in close cooperation with TOFC’s management, with MOE as the engineers.
