Light rail on Frederikssundsvej

Gottlieb Paludan Architects has carried out a feasibility study for Metroselskabet in connection with a new light rail on Frederikssundsvej. The feasibility study provides input for routing and bridges as well as urban space visualisations.

New traffic solutions are required due to increasing traffic pressure. The City of Copenhagen wants a new metro line to run from Refshaleøen to Brønshøj via the central station. As this is an expensive solution, other alternatives are being examined. Gottlieb Paludan has conducted a feasibility study for a light rail between Nørrebro and Gladsaxe via Frederikssundsvej.

The feasibility study includes investigations of various routing options, bridges and a number of visualisations to show how the light rail will affect the surrounding urban spaces. For selected locations, there is a description of the interventions that the construction of the light rail will require. In addition, the study shows and describes the proposed interior design of the light rail cars.

Gottlieb Paludan has been particularly tasked with preparing visualisations of future scenarios based on discussions with the City of Copenhagen and Metroselskabet.
