Danish Broadcasting Corporation, Process Management

The extensive DR Byen complex, which is the headquarters of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), was developed according to a master plan in four Segments with four different functions. After providing total consultancy services on DR Byen Segment 3, Gottlieb Paludan Architects has been client adviser on DR Byen’s three other Segments together with Indre Gade (‘Inner Street’), a glass-covered passageway at second-floor level which links the four Segments.

Services have included process management, project scrutiny and financial management, for example during the construction phase of DR’s new Concert Hall, designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel. We liaised between the French firm of architects and the Danish client and contractor.

In addition, Gottlieb Paludan Architects has liaised with public authorities, undertaken design management in connection with design-and-build contracts together with interface coordination on all Segments of DR Byen in connection with the transfer of the building to DR Ejendomme’s operations organization.

In connection with the as-built project, we have set up DR’s archive system and organized the collection, recording and validation of the as-built documentation from advisers and contractors for all the Segments. Gottlieb Paludan Architects still assists DR Ejendomme with various ad hoc projects, including follow-ups on complaints, user adaptations and liaison with public authorities.
