Biogas Filling Stations

Gottlieb Paludan Architects designed new bio-natural gas stations which will provide drivers with gas for their gas-driven cars in all of Denmark.

The design of the new natural gas stations builds on the existing identity of Bionaturgas Danmark. It enhances and supports the green, eco-friendly energy narrative and resolves the physical challenges relating to refuelling with gas.

The design is a minimalist structure encompassing all functional parts of the gas station. Constructed with a thick, vandalism-proof steel plate, the structure integrates price and logo without visible joints. The central light trace is made in removable microprismatic acrylic that allows for servicing of the electronics behind it.
Customers can park and fill their cars on both sides of the platform and stay dry when paying.

All units on the base are kept free from the underside of the roof so that no elements engage with the roof.

The compressor is set up in a remote corner of the facility and is designed to blend in with the surrounding landscape.
