10.12.2015

The Danish curatorial team for the International Architecture Biennale has selected Nørreport Station as one of the projects to be displayed in the Danish pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2016. Nørreport Station was completed in 2015 and created by Gottlieb Paludan Architects and COBE.

This year’s theme examines the architect’s role in “the struggle to enhance the quality of human life worldwide”. The Danish contribution will be a snapshot of the new humanism in Danish architecture. veritable treasure trove of architectural prototypes will illustrate how Danish architects create ‘human-centered’ architecture which affects human behaviour and strives to serve the community.

The Danish Ministry of Culture has appointed the Danish Architecture Centre to nominate officials for the project which is also funded not only by the Ministry of Culture but also by Realdania and the Danish Arts Foundation’s Committee for Architecture Grants and Project Funding. Together they have appointed architect Boris Brorman Jensen and philosopher Kristoffer Lindhardt Weiss to curate the official Danish contribution to the Biennale.

The exhibition will run from 28 May to 27 November 2016.
