BLOX

Gottlieb Paludan Architects had the role of client consultant to Realdania Byg in connection with the brewery site project on the Copenhagen waterfront. The building was intended to be a link between the city and the harbour. The design is developed by the Dutch architectural firm OMA.

BLOX consisted of several sub-projects, and the building houses exhibition facilities for the Danish Architecture Centre (DAC) along with offices, residential units and parking facilities. Gottlieb Paludan Architects took care of the communication and coordination between the client and OMA and handled any issues relating to potential adjustments of the design to local plans, any communication with the Danish Nature Conservancy Board and public consultation rounds. In addition, GPA dealt with the overall process management related to end-user involvement together with comprehensive project scrutiny throughout the process and general screenings related to, for example, accessibility.
