Gottlieb Paludan Architects shortlisted in Bergen

01.02.2019

In Norway, Bergen Municipality has selected five teams to develop proposals to redesign the historic urban spaces of central Bergen. The overall objective of the competition is to generate proposals, outlining ways in which to integrate the upcoming light rail line into the historic urban environment around the harbour in Bergen. Gottlieb Paludan Architects is heading one of the selected teams.

“The local authority’s ambition is to enhance the area, making it a local, regional and international meeting place with clear historical depth. We want it to be a vibrant and sustainable urban space for residents and visitors throughout the year. Thus, the brief of the project is design the urban spaces with a view to integrating holistically the cultural monuments, light rail, town square and harbour into the city as a whole,” explains Anna Elisa Tryti from the City Council for Urban Development, Bergen Local Authority.

Gottlieb Paludan Architects is teamed up with Tegn_3, Austigard Arkitektur, Arkitektskap, ÅF Lighting and ÅF Infrastructure for this project.
